Poll strategist Prashant Kishor met Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh in Delhi today just a few days after quitting as the political advisor to him. The meeting was held just hours before Amarinder Singh's talk with Sonia Gandhi.
PK was seen entering Kapurthala residence in Delhi, where Captain Amarinder Singh has been staying. Since Prashant Kishor joined Captain's team as a major advisor in March 2021, the two have conducted many rounds of talks over the previous few months.
On August 5, PK quit as Punjab CM's political advisor, claiming that he wanted to "take a temporary break from an active participation in public life." Prashant Kishor was rumoured to be joining the Congress party when the news broke.
Meanwhile, in the midst of Captain's meeting, Navjot Singh Sidhu's camp today sought time to see interim president Sonia Gandhi. The meeting is said to be called to address Mallikarjun Kharge's 18-point agenda for Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. Captain is purposely delaying taking action on the problems stated in the agenda, according to the letter sent by 5 Ministers and 7 MLAs from Sidhu's camp.
Also, Amarinder Singh, today will meet Congress leadership Sonia Gandhi and is anticipated to talk about cabinet reshuffle in Punjab along with Navjot Sidhu’s continuous criticism against the state administration even weeks after being promoted to his new position when Captain Singh reluctantly surrendered.
At the time of Sidhu's elevation, both party leaders have made public remarks about working together as a team, however, the cricketer-turned-actions politician's bear little to no resemblance to that pledge.
