Ending speculation, Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday sent his resignation to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh at his official residence in Chandigarh.
Since his portfolio was changed recently, Sidhu wasn’t happy and hadn’t assumed the charge of his new portfolio.
The cricketer-turned-politician had earlier submitted his resignation letter to Rahul Gandhi instead of Amarinder Singh. It remains unclear as to why the resignation was not sent to Amarinder Singh in the past one month.

However, on Sidhu's resignation, Capt Amarinder said that he never got Sidhu's resignation.
On his sending of resignation direct to Rahul Gandhi he said, " Rahul Gandhi may not be the President today but he is still a member of Congress, I have no problem with Sidhu, only he can tell what problem he has with me."
"I have never been against Sidhu's wife, in fact, it was me who proposed her name to fight from Bathinda seat," he added
