Former Punjab Chief Minister
and Punjab Lok Congress president Amrinder Singh met the Union Home Minister
Amit Shah in the national capital. The meeting is considered important as it happened just before the results of the Punjab assembly elections coming on March 10. The meeting lasted for around a quarter of an hour.
Captain
quit the Congress and contested in the elections in alliance with Bhartiya
Janata Party and Sanyukt Akali Dal for the 117 seats. Captain said that he
discussed the latest condition of Punjab with the Union Home Minister. It was a
general meeting and the formation of the government will be discussed after the
result of the elections.
When he
was asked about the issues discussed in the meeting, he refused to reveal
anything from the meeting. He said we had a general discussion on the situation
in Punjab, not on elections. He was also asked about the discussion regarding
National security, he refused to reveal it.
On
questions regarding the performance of their party and the results of the
elections, he said that he cannot comment on it as he is not a prophet. The
Punjab Assembly Elections were held on 20 February and Captain’s Party Punjab Lok
Congress came forward in alliance with Bhartiya Janata Party. The results are
yet to be announced.
