Case Filed Against Akshay Kumar and Bachchan Pandey Team Over Violating COVID-19 Rules On Sets: Reports

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar often remains busy with his projects. The actor brings his movies back to back, thanks to his dedication and work ethics, his project never gets on hold. Ever since the lockdown has lifted in a phased manner and film shootings are being allowed, Akshay Kumar is super busy in his work. Akshay is working back to back starting with Bell Bottom, he shot Atrangi Re and Prithviraj and recently jumped upon the schedule of Bachchan Pandey. 

In Bachchan Pandey, Akshay plays the character of a gangster who wants to be a film actor. Apart from Akshay, Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Arshad Warsi will also play a pivotal role. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Farhad Samji. The team is in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan these days. Now going by the reports of Koimoi, a case has been filed against Bachchan Pandey actors i.e. Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline, Kriti, Arshad, and also against the maker for violating COVID rules and regulations.

 Aditya Sharma, a resident of Bhaskar Mohalla in Jaisalmer via advocate Kanwaraj Singh Rathore has filed a complaint to the Chief Judicial Magistrate. Complainant states that although only 100 people have been allowed during the shooting of a movie,  a crowd of 200 is often seen there which violates the COVID-19 guidelines. The complaint also alleges that  Jaisalmer has been shown as a part of Uttar Pradesh in the film which will set the wrong perception around its location and will badly affect tourism.

Aditya has requested the magistrate to punish them under Section 268 (creating public nuisance), 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 270 (Malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 283 (Danger or obstruction in public way). Although the case has not been heard by the court yet. Bachchan Pandey will hit the cinemas on Jan 26, 2022.
