The Political game going on in Punjab seems to have heated up after the Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that BJP has started its operation lotus in Punjab as well. The AAP has also alleged that their MLAs are being offered money to buy them and get them into their party.
The Aam Aadmi Party has always been aggressive whenever BJP is involved in any kind of issue. It has been alleged that the BJP government in Punjab has started their own ‘operation lotus’ in Punjab in which they are offering around 25 crores to the MLAs of AAP to get them into their party to weaken the ruling government in Punjab.
Reportedly, around Rs. 1354 crores have been kept aside by the BJP for operation lotus in Punjab. The Finance Minister of Punjab, Harpal Cheema has informed everyone that he will conduct a press conference today and will reveal the names of around 7-10 MLAs who have been offered this proposal and will also provide the audio recordings of the same.
"The BJP is offering ₹ 25 crores per MLA to switch sides. Operation Lotus may have succeeded in Karnataka, but the Delhi MLAs stayed firm and failed the BJP operation and the same will happen in Punjab" said Mr. Cheema at a press conference. It is being said that after this action will be initiated, the cyber cell of Punjab Police will investigate in its accordance. FIR might also get lodged against some big ministers of BJP in Punjab if they are found guilty in the alleged ‘Operation Lotus’ case.
The AAP has become more active as they have got the information that Enforcement Directorate’s next target would be Punjab as raids are being carried out by them in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam. During the investigation of the same, the name of Punjab Excise policy has also come up due to which some ministers of AAP might become the target of ED.
If any ministers’ names are revealed and FIR is registered against them, then it will result in a big rivalry between the BJP and AAP. The point is that although BJP does not have a very strong in Punjab due to this counter-attack by AAP a lot of things for the BJP are at stake as the elections in Himachal are on the cards.
