Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda starrer CAT has been buzzing in the world of OTT ever since it was released on Netflix on December 9, 2022. Set in the backdrop of Punjab, CAT is a crime thriller that portrays terrorism-drugs going hand in hand and how the presence of black sheep in the Police department are acting like termites in the system with political support. Ultimately, CAT highlight how it is the common people who suffer in the end. Notably, CAT is a fictional story, however, fans sense it real seeing the current scenario and history of Punjab. The 8 episodes web series is created, written, and directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, who served as the writer in the 2019 biographical drama film Saand Ki Aankh. However, CAT's ending has left multiple questions in fans' minds. Among the most prevalent is whether CAT 2 will release or not.
Going by CAT's ending, it is indeed a possibility its season 2 will emerge. Although it has not been announced officially, CAT's performance on Netflix suggests that its second season will come. If CAT 2 will be made, then it will mostly show how Gurnam Singh AKA Garry (Randeep Hooda) will take his revenge on Sartaj Singh who has fled to Canada with a narco-terrorist named Baljeet Singh Rajpuria.

For those who haven't watched the web series, CAT is basically the code name of informants of Police officials working in terror and narco-terror gangs. Similarly, Randeep Hooda portrays the character of a CAT who was used by a Punjab Police official named Sartaj Singh. At first, Sartaj uses Randeep to bust the terror and separatists operational in Punjab for his personal benefit. And then, Gurnam Singh was rehired as a CAT by Sartaj in order to bust the drug racket run by a local MP named Madam Aulakh. Although Gurnam becomes a CAT due to desperate circumstances, he was included by Sartaj so that he can just benefit himself on a personal basis. At first Gurnam becomes CAT in order to avenge his parents' deaths from separatists and then again h becomes CAT so that his younger brother gets discharged from the selling of drug charges. However, in the end, Gurnam came to know that it was not the separatist named Rajpuria who killed his parents but it was Sartaj Singh who killed them. Not only Sartaj killed Gurnam's parents but also he left Rajpuria twice by taking a huge amount of bribes. It is to be noted that it was due to Gurnam's spy work, Rajpuria was caught by Sartaj. Keeping long things short, CAT is indeed a twisted tale that will keep making you binge-watch it.
CAT Season 2
Talking about CAT Season 2, Netflix will take its time to check the algorithms, comments, and everything else before renewing the series for a second season. The very idea gives us a thumbs up for the second season as the first has been doing pretty well and has managed to appeal to and appease a vast audience.
