CBI has filed its charge sheet in the INX Media case and named former Union minister P Chidambaram along with 13 others. CBI filed its charge sheet in the INX Media money laundering case on Friday and named the veteran Congress leader who was arrested and lodged at the Tihar jail for several weeks.
A Delhi court on Thursday extended P Chidambaram's judicial custody till October 24 after the Enforcement Directorate also arrested him over its probe in the money laundering case.
Chidambaram had been lodged at the Tihar Jail under CBI custody so far.
P Chidambaram has spent almost 2 months in CBI and judicial custody till now after he was arrested on August 21 in this case.
Along with P Chidambaram, Peter Mukharjee, Karti Chidambaram, Bhaskar (associate of Karti), former Under Secretary R Prasad, former Director Prabodh Saxena, Joint Secretary Anup Pujari and Additional Secretary Sidhushree Khullar of the Department of Economic Affairs, INX Media, ASCPL and Chess Management have also been named as accused in CBI charge sheet.

The CBI had earlier received prosecution sanction against P Chidambaram and other four former finance ministry officials.
The CBI has filed this charge sheet within 69 days of arresting P Chidambaram which will make the former finance minister difficult for getting bail in the case. Chidambaram was arrested on August 21.
Chidambaram was remanded to the custody of ED after spending over 40 days in Tihar Jail.
