CBI has arrested Principal Chief Engineer Suresh Chand Meena in the bribery case after raiding the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala. 2.50 lakh cash has been recovered from the Chief Engineer. Apart from this, the CBI has also seized some documents. The chief engineer was looking after the workshop and building work in the Rail Coach Factory. The accused had demanded a bribe of 1 lakh from a contractor in lieu of tender and payment. RCF PRO Jitesh Kumar has confirmed this arrest.
The CBI informed that Suresh Chand Meena, Principal Chief Engineer, Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, has been arrested for accepting one lakh bribe. A case has been registered against him.
The contractor, who was engaged in civil and horticulture work in Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala, had complained that he had met Principal Chief Engineer Suresh Chand Meena in connection with tender and payment. During this, the Principal Chief Engineer asked him to pay 1% of the gross payment instead of continuing the payment work.The CBI then tracked down in Kapurthala and arrested him red-handed taking a bribe of one lakh. The CBI also searched his office and house in Kapurthala and Jaipur. Due to which many types of documents have been recovered.
The accused Principal Chief Engineer has been produced before the CBI Court in Mohali and sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Explain that in Rail Coach Factory, all the work including golf course, ground, colony is done under the supervision of Chief Engineer.
The CBI has taken this action late at 2.30 pm. A team of 5 officers had come to arrest the Chief Engineer. After a few hours of search, the officers took away the Chief Engineer along with the cash and documents.
