Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team has reached Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee's home to question his wife Rujira Banerjee in the alleged coal smuggling case.
CBI summoned Rujira on Sunday in connection with the coal smuggling case. After she responded to the summons on Monday, she insisted the team to visit her home between 11am to 3pm on Tuesday.
Rujria said, "Though I am unaware of the reason for me being called for questioning or the subject matter of the investigation, you may visit my residence as per your convenience between 11 am and 3 pm tomorrow, i.e. 23 February 2021," Rujira had said in a letter to CBI. "You are requested to kindly inform me your schedule."
Mamata Banerjee also visited her residence prior to the enquiry by CBI.
