Srinagar, Dec 26: The posts at the Line of Control(LoC) in Machil sector of North Kashmir district of Kupwara were targeted by Pakistani troops in a ceasefire violation, reported the sources.
The Pakistani troops are reported targeting the forward Army posts at LoC in Machil with an unprovoking firing. The Indian troops also retaliated and there was an exchange of fire for some time. There was no injury reported in the ceasefire violation.
It is also reported that the Pakistani troops were firing from across to provide cover to militants to sneak into this side before all the routes of infiltration are closed due to heavy snowfall.
There are about 200 militants waiting across the border to infiltrate into this side as there was less snowfall so far, say reports.
