The Chandigarh administration on Friday decided not to impose weekend restrictions on shops and shopping malls from Saturday.
The shops and markets will remain open on every Saturday and Sunday, UT Adviser Manoj Parida told the media here.
However, the administration decided to continue with the odd-even system of opening shops in 12 congested markets of the city.

Parida said the decision to lift the weekend restrictions was taken to revive the economy and trade in the city.
