In a tragic development, a 19-year-old boy studying at Chandigarh University jumped off a 100-feet high water tanker and died by suicide. The deceased student has been identified as 19-year-old Sumit Chikkara, a resident of Bahadurgarh (Haryana). He was the only son of his parents. Chandigarh University Suicide Video has also surfaced and it showcases Sumit jumping off from the water tanker.
Sumit's friends informed the cops that the deceased had also attempted suicide before taking this step. The incident was reported on July 15. Sumit was a BBA student at Chandigarh University. His friends Aditya and Vaibhav informed the Police that Sumit was their friend, who was upset about money transactions for a few days. Sumit first cut the vein of his hand and then suddenly climbed on top of the water tank built in Modern City Center.
As soon as friends and people around saw him climbing the tank, they tried to stop him. Two people climbed the tank to stop him, but Sumit jumped off the tank when he saw them climbing. Sumit was then brought to Kharar Government Hospital. The doctors declared him dead after examination. According to the information, both the legs of the youth were broken. The bones of the legs were visible outside.
The CU student was living with his friends in a PG in Modern Valley Khanpur and he was the only son of his parents. After getting the information about this accident, the family of the deceased reached Kharar Government Hospital from Bahadurgarh in Haryana. The police got the postmortem done and handed over the body to the family.
