On Saturday, centenarian sprinter Man Kaur died from a heart attack. The news of her demise was confirmed by her son Gurdev Singh. Man Kaur was 105 years old and survived by two sons and a daughter.
As per her son, Man Kaur was admitted to the Derabassi Ayurvedic Hospital and took her last breath at 1 pm today. She was suffering from gallbladder and liver cancer. She was on a liquid diet and was surviving with the help of homeopathic medicines.
Man Kaur was born on May 1, 1916, and was popularly known as “Miracle Mom from Chandigarh.”
Kaur took up sports at the age of 93 and was inspired by her son. In 2017, the centenarian made 100m dash in a jaw-dropping 74 seconds at the World Masters Games in Auckland. In 2019, Kaur finished the 200 m dash at 30:01.61 at the Asian Masters Championship in Malaysia, at that time she was 103 years old.
At the age of 103, she received the Nari Shakti Puraskar from the President and was declared the fastest centenarian in the American Masters Games.
