Rakul Preet Singh’s led latest comic thriller, ‘Chhatriwali’, sheds light on a much-wider concern that needs people’s attention for a larger cause. The movie hovers around the subject of safe sex, at the center of which is a woman (Rakul) who deals with challenges to achieve the objective.
Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar', 'Chhatriwali' aims to propagate a much stronger message on the importance of using male contraceptives and safe sex.
In the film, Rakul is playing the role of a condom factory’s latest quality control head a shy woman who is embarrassed about her job. Eventually, she realizes the significance of safe sex and decides to take it upon herself to destigmatize the conversation around sex education.
Rakul was very much excited about her role and took to Instagram to share the film’s motion poster, while announcing the release date of her film, in the caption she wrote, "No more bunking, it's time for learning with #Chhatriwali on #ZEE5, premieres 20th Jan."
Without setting a boring and emotional tone, the film sets the tone and delivers the subject in a perfect humorous way ensuring the central theme of the film remains entertaining, engaging, and friendly.

On her role Rakul while interacting with the media said, "For me, every film of mine has been special but Chhatriwali is extra special for many reasons. After so many years in the industry, I am finally getting to headline a film and what better than an entertaining film with a thought-provoking social message! This World Aids Day, I join the fight against HIV by raising awareness of the importance of safe sex and the use of male contraceptives via my upcoming film, Chhatriwali."
Manish Kalra, the Chief Business Officer of Zee5, over the tie-up to release this movie said to the media, "After the success of two path-breaking films like Helmet and Janhit Mein Jaari, we are happy to bring forth 'Chhatriwali' which deals with a taboo subject of Sex education in a progressive and an entertaining manner.”
