In a harrowing road-accident, a truck collided with a school bus near Dhanaul at the Barnala-Chandigarh road on Friday. As per reports, 14 children were injured in the accident and have been admitted to a hospital. According to witnesses, the truck driver collided with the bus while it was crossing the road. The bus reportedly belongs to a private school.
Along with the students, 2 staff members, the bus driver and the conductor were injured. Those who were injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment with the help of local people. Some of the students escaped with minor injuries while some were sent home after being given first aid.
As per reports, 42 children were travelling in the bus. It is not clear which of the drivers was at fault. As per the witnesses, the school-bus driver was not able to control the bus as he was speeding. Had he not been speeding the accident could have been avoided.
