YouTuber Dhruv Rathee on Thursday shared a fresh video on his social media handle and addressed the reports saying that he received funding from China to cover 'anti-Modi' videos during Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Dhruv Rathee in his video named a Hindi daily and stated that fake news is being propagated by the newspaper claiming that he received funding from China. Rathee pointed out anti-China videos that he made in order to prove his point that he did not receive funding from the CCP. The news daily had quoted Delhi Police sources in the Swati Maliwal case that Dhruv Rathee is making misinformed & one-sided videos on the AAP Rajya Sabha MP by sitting in Germany. The report also stated that the Delhi Police is taking legal advice over Rathee's videos defaming India. Not only this, it was reported that the Delhi Police is probing Dhruv Rathee's alleged funding from China. Reacting to the report, below is what Dhruv Rathee said in his video.
"....newspaper started spreading fake news on me that I am receiving funding from China. Tell me why would I make videos on Boycott China if I was receiving funds from there. I have never even taken a sponsorship from a Chinese company. This is the same newspaper that I had exposed in the past. They are famous for publishing fake news. Once, they even made fake news on the Indian Army. In fact, the Indian Army itself debunked the reports. This newspaper also peddled fake news on farmers' protests that 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogans were chanted.
Before this, reacting to Swati Maliwal's accusations, Rathee on his X wrote, ""Fake allegations against me, daily death threats, dehumanizing insults, coordinated campaigns to defame me … I’m used to it by now. The irony is that perpetrators are pretending to be victims. Everyone knows who is behind all this. They want to silence me. But that’s not gonna happen. If you silence 1 Dhruv Rathee, 1000 new ones will rise up. Jai Hind."
Interestingly, Dhruv Rathee did not mention the fact that a day before Maliwal approached Delhi Police, AAP senior leader Sanjay Singh addressed a press conference and accepted that the AAP Rajya Sabha MP was manhandled at Kejriwal's house. Not only this, but Singh had also stated that Delhi CM had taken the matter into his cognizance and he would punish the guilty after an internal inquiry. Also, YouTuber Rathee did not mention any comments by the BJP leaders but he presented AAP's stand and highlighted their accusations against the Saffron party.
