As per the Chinese media report, Chinese scientists and the government have called climate change a China draught reason. Furthermore, in one of the Yangtze's important flood basins in central China's Jiangxi province, the Poyang Lake has now shrunk to a quarter of its normal size for this time of year.

It is pertinent to mention here that more than 5 million Chinese people in Southwest China had to suffer power cut due to the record break heatwave. In fact, factories had to stop working after electricity demand due to hike in air condition (AC) demands surged and the electricity power plat of China failed massively. Temperatures across Sichuan province had surpassed 40 degrees Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) in recent days, causing demand for air conditioning to spike.
