News Anchor Chitra Tripathi has announced her divorce from her husband Atul Agrawal on her social media X (Twitter). Chitra in her social media post wrote- 

"After spending 16 years together, we began a planned separation some time ago and now feel ready to formalize it - not as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family, We are dedicated to raising our son together and are grateful for the support of our loved ones during this transition, This is not the end, but the beginning of a new journey. Your wishes mean a lot to us," she wrote.

Chitra Tripathi clarified in her post that this separation was a planned process and they will stay together to raise their son. She has requested her well-wishers for support and best wishes in this difficult time. 

What went wrong between Chitra Tripathi and Atul Agarwal?

Chitra Tripathi and Atul Agarwal have not revealed why they decided to part ways and end their marriage of 16 years. However, something happened in 2022, and people speculate that particular controversy could be the reason behind the couple's divorce.

For the unversed, in 2022, reports were rife that Chitra and Atul were reportedly dealing with a series of cracks in their marriage. During that time, Atul dropped a tweet on X in which he tagged the Uttar Pradesh police and shared that some robbers attacked him. After Atul Agarwal's tweet went viral, Uttar Pradesh police immediately investigated the matter. According to a report, Atul lied about the robbery incident, and instead, he was at the residence of one of his female friends. Atul was reportedly in OYO with a female, and in order to hide this matter from his wife, Chitra Tripathi, he faked the robbery incident.

Atul Agrawal career

Atul Agrawal is renowned in the media community. He is the founder of the Hindi news channel Hindi Khabar and has worked as a journalist for almost 20 years. In March 2002, he began working as a news anchor for the New Delhi-based news channel Doordarshan Kendra. Atul Agrawal started working as an AEP/senior anchor at News24 in Noida in November 2007. He covered two important stories there: a special report on the Delhi Blast and the Lok Sabha Cash for Vote fraud.
