A cloudburst was reported near the holy Amarnath Cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. Reports said two State Disaster Response Force teams are at the site to tackle the situation.
Amarnath Yatra is postponed this time and no passenger is present at the place where this accident happened. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media. It showed a huge quantity of water flowing downstream from a mountain near the camps of security forces at the cave shrine.
No casualty or injuries have been reported in the incident so far as no pilgrim was present at the cave shrine in J&K’s Anantnag district.
The J&K Police has issued an advisory for the people stating that in view of the incessant rains and cloudburst near the holy cave shrine, the general publics in areas of Gund and Kangan have been advised to stay away from River Sindh as there may be sudden increase in the flow of water.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and said, "NDRF teams are being sent there for relief operations and an accurate assessment of the situation."
Apart from this, At least seven people were killed and around one and a half dozen injured in a cloudburst in Kishtwar district early on Wednesday. At the same time, seven people died in the flood caused by cloudburst in Lahaul-Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. Here, in Chamba also two people are reported to have died.

Earlier, two cloudbursts in the Kargil district of the Ladakh UT last evening damaged the Kargil—Leh highway, about a dozen houses, standing crops and a mini power project.
Also, one cloudburst occurred at village Khangral about 60 km from Kargil and the other in the Sanku sub-division on the Zanskar Road.
