Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, today is expected to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi in Delhi. It is anticipated that the party leaders are likely to talk about cabinet reshuffle in Punjab. Meanwhile, on August 9, Sidhu questioned his own party's government, indicating that the political fight between him and CM is far from over.
The meeting is said to be significant as several media reports suspect cabinet reshuffle even though CM Amarinder Singh himself had clarified that it was unlikely in the near future. Meanwhile, another controversial point to be discussed could be that Navjot Sidhu continues to criticise the state administration even weeks after being promoted to his new position when Captain Singh reluctantly surrendered.
At the time of Sidhu's elevation, both party leaders have made public remarks about working together as a team, however, the cricketer-turned-actions politician's bear little to no resemblance to that pledge.
On August 9, he criticized his government for failing to act against Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia and others accused of being engaged in a narcotics trafficking case in 2018.
Sidhu took to Twitter on Monday to query what the Amarinder Singh government had done in response to the Special Task Force (STF) report on narcotics.
“What investigation had Punjab Police done? What action had the Punjab government taken? Must be brought into the public domain. Since the submission of reports, what further action did the state take in 2.5 years? The government must make itself accountable to the public with complete transparency!"

Today, Sidhu tweeted, "The Congress's priority under the 18-Point Agenda is to punish the perpetrators of the drug trade; what action has been done on Majithia? If further delayed, we will bring a resolution in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha for making the reports public."
He questioned the government's measures to combat the drugs problem in a series of tweets. Despite the fact that he did not specifically mention the Chief Minister, the attack was directed at him.
CM, on the other hand, stated on July 31 that his ministry had already taken numerous actions from the Congress high command's 18-point agenda. The desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib, the drug crisis in Punjab and difficulties with power purchase agreements are among them.
Sidhu, a vocal critic of Captain Singh, was appointed Punjab Congress chief on July 23 despite strong opposition from the Chief Minister, who demanded a public apology for such public criticism.
In light of the recovery of a "tiffin bomb" and hand grenades from a village in Amritsar, the Chief Minister is also expected to pay a visit to Union Home Minister Amit Shah while in Delhi tomorrow.
