Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is likely to meet Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday (July 6) amid the Punjab Congress crisis.
According to the sources, the meeting has been called up to reconcile on the peace formula to end the longstanding feud in the party.
It is also being anticipated, High Command can make announcements to end the war of words between Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Sidhu.
Earlier reports were there, Congress High Command might re-induct Sidhu as the deputy chief minister of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) however, Capt Amarinder Singh is not comfortable working with him as Chief Minister.
It is to be reiterated here, the cricketer turned
politician joined hand with Capt Amarinder Singh before the 2017 Assembly Elections
in the state. After the party came into power, Sidhu was given the portfolio of
local government, tourism, and cultural affairs.

However, in 2019, Navjot Sidhu resigned from his position and posted a copy of it on Twitter. After ending hibernation, Sidhu became active and started throwing accusations at Punjab CM.
Though, Congress High Command is striving hard to end this tug of war, it will be evident to see what outcome will Capt Amarinder’s meeting with Sonia Gandhi produce tomorrow.
