Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has issued an anti-corruption helpline number on Wednesday. He has issued Whatsapp number 9501200200 on which complaints can be filed in the form of audio-video messages.
Earlier, CM Mann paid tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev by visiting Hussainiwala Memorial and Khatkar Kalan on their death anniversary. During this, he said that corruption in the state will not be spared. He said that this is our small step to take the thoughts of the martyrs to the door-to-door. He said that more announcements will be made in the coming days.
Launching the anti-corruption helpline number, Mann said he himself will supervise the action on the complaints. If someone asks for a bribe, do not let him go, send his audio or video recording to me. My office will investigate it thoroughly and the corruption will not be spared. Strict action will be taken against him.
CM Mann said that a similar number was issued in the 49-day government of Arvind Kejriwal. After which corruption ended in such a way that since then only Kejriwal is coming to power in Delhi. Corruption will be handled in the same way in Punjab also.
The AAP recorded a thumping win in the Assembly polls by winning 92 of the 117 seats. The ruling Congress won 18 seats, a massive decline from 77 it had won in 2017, while the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) could manage only three seats.
