A day after implementing sweeping changes across the state bureaucracy, the newly appointed Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has removed Batala Improvement Trust Chief Pawan
Kumar Pamma from his post and reappointed Kasturi Lal Seth. Mr Kumar is a close aide of former CM Capt Amarinder Singh.
Earlier, Kumar’s son Shiva Sareen was detained by ED in an alleged Rs 90 crore GST fraud case. The incident had left congress politicians red-faced. Now, Channi has removed Mr Kumar
after 22 days of his appointment and again named former chairman Kasturi Lal Seth as the head of Batala IT.
Reportedly, Kasturi Lal Seth is a close aide of Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa of Navjot Sidhu's camp.

Meanwhile, the head of the Amritsar Improvement Trust is also replaced by a close associate of state Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu. Sidhu’s baiter and Capt’s protege,
Dinesh Bassi was replaced by Damandeep Singh Uppal.
Uppal's name was announced during CM Channi's Amritsar visit.
In a key reshuffle of power, Capt Amarinder Singh had resigned from his post of Chief Minister on September 18 after a long fight with arch-rival Navjot Singh Sidhu and his allies. Following
this, on September 20, Sidhu’s close aide Charanjit Channi was named the CM.
