Today, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding cold wave in Punjab-Chandigarh. The effect of fog has been seen in many districts of Punjab. Visibility has reached zero in Amritsar and Pathankot. Due to this, air and rail routes have been badly affected.

The flight coming from Milan to Amritsar had landed 2.43 hours late due to poor visibility. Additionally, the flight had to circle in the air for half an hour before landing. Apart from this, the IndiGo flight coming from Mumbai also circled in the air for about 25 minutes.

Yesterday, the day temperature of the entire state was 1.8 degrees below normal. But the next two days are going to be a relief. However, from January 4, the weather will change again and there are chances of rainfall in the state as well.

According to the Meteorological Department, the situation in Chandigarh is going to be normal and the weather conditions will remain normal. Meanwhile, an alert has been issued regarding cold wave in Firozpur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Barnala and Mansa in Punjab. The situation will remain normal in other districts and the Meteorological Department has not issued any warning for any other district.

Usually, 10.9 mm of rain falls in the month of December, but this year, 24.7 mm of rainfall has been recorded. Wheat has been sown in 34 lakh hectares in Punjab. Farmers are very happy after the rain in December.
