On Wednesday, 18th September, BookMyShow Live updated their followers about the Coldplay concert that will take place in India, on their official Instagram page with a small teaser. After this announcement, several fans waited in the virtual queue for hours to get tickets of Mumbai Coldplay concerts. Even after the third row, many fans were left disappointed as they were not able to get the tickets for the concert.
The only authorized ticket-selling platform, BookMyShow, had warned the public to not get their tickets from any unauthorized platforms to avoid scams. On X, BookMyShow stated, “It has come to our attention that unauthorized platforms are listing tickets for Coldplay's Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India, both before and after the official sale. These tickets are invalid. Ticket scalping is illegal in India and punishable by law.”
Viagogo, a re-selling platform listed the Coldplay concert tickets for Rs 3 lakhs even after the warning given by BookMyShow.
Coldplay has announced the concert dates on their official Instagram page. The concert is scheduled to happen in the next year. The Coldplay band will do 3 days concert in Mumbai. The concert will happen on 18th, 19th and 21st January 2025 in the DY Patil Sports Stadium.
Fans who have failed to get the ticket of Coldplay Mumbai concert have blamed BookMyShow for creating a virtual queue that is based on session ID instead of the customer ID. These fans blamed BookMyShow for not tying the concert tickets to booking ID because of which anyone could purchase the tickets and sell it at a higher price.
One of the X users said, “How does @viagogo get Coldplay tickets at the same time as @bookmyshow but at black market prices several times higher? Clearly, there's a nexus and BMS is selling them to Viagogo. This is screaming scam!”
“The official partner (BMS) parked god knows how many tickets for their employees, for random insta influencers, for politicians and other celebs. As soon as tickets went live, the same were listed on resale platforms at 20-30x the price - this would mostly not have been possible without BMS being complicit,” another user commented.
