The Jalandhar Police Commissionerate led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has resolved a case of snatching by arresting two snatchers who had broken the wrist of victim.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police said that on August 28, Sunny, s/o Naresh Kumar, r/o Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Nagar, now r/o near Kartar Dhaba, Adda Gate, Jalandhar, had complained that he was going to his home at around 11:50 PM. He said that on the way at Maqsudan Chowk, three unnamed Activa riders assaulted him with a Datar, injured him on the wrist, and took away his OnePlus mobile phone. Mr Swapan Sharma said that taking action against the accused, FIR No. 130 dated 06.09.2024 u/s 309(6), 118(2), 3(5) BNS Police Station Division No. 1 Jalandhar was registered
The Commissioner of Police said that during the investigation the Police identified accused as Varun, s/o Sonu Pal, and Binni, s/o Sonu Pal r/o tenants at New Deol Nagar, Model House, near SP Prime School, Jalandhar. He said that based on scientific evidence and human intelligence the Police arrested the accused and recovered the snatched OnePlus mobile phone from them. Mr Swapan Sharma said that third accomplice of these accused, named Ankit, who is in jail in another case, is yet to be arrested.
The Commissioner of Police said that further investigations into the case is going on and details will be shared later. He said that two cases are pending against Ankit whereas no criminal background of Varun and Binni has been traced so far. Mr Swapan Sharma said that the Commissionerate Police is committed for wiping out crime from city and no stone is left unturned for it.
