Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has busted a gang involved in theft and snatching by arresting three criminals involved in this crime.
Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police said that on a tip off the Police had laid a trap at Patel Chowk Jalandhar. He said that during the checking they they received information from a reliable source that Vikas alias Kali, Sourav alias Sabi, Tarun Bagania, and Rishi Kumar alias Rishi, who commit theft and snatching incidents in the city, were waiting for someone near Gandhi Vanita Ashram turn, Kapurthala Chowk Jalandhar, on an Activa without number. Mr Swapan Sharma said that swinging into action the Police party nabbed Vikas alias Kali, Sourav alias Sabi, and Rishi Kumar alias Rishi.
The Commissioner of Police said that A FIR No. 97 dated 18.09.2024 under sections 303(2), 304(2), 3(5), later adding 317(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Division No. 2 Jalandhar. He said that one Activa without number, 15 mobile phones of different brands snatched from different areas, and one Datar (knife) were recovered from them. Mr Swapan Sharma said that during investigation it came into light that the accused were involved in multiple incidents of snatching and crime in the city.
The Commissioner of Police said that Police is further investigating the matter and details will be shared later on. He said that two FIRs are already pending against Vikas whereas six cases are pending against Rishi. Mr Swapan Sharma said that Police is committed for wiping out the crime from city and no stone is being left unturned for this noble cause.
