In a bold move that sends a thunderous message to criminals, the Crime Branch of Jalandhar, under the astute leadership of Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, has struck another blow against crime by apprehending two individuals involved in a recent car snatching incident at Dhanowali Phatak.
Providing the details, Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur said that an FIR No. 61, dated 17.03.2025 was registered at Police Station Rama Mandi under Sections 304(2) and 3(5) based on the statement of the complainant, Sukhwinder Bhatti, a taxi driver from Ferozepur. The complainant reported that he was hired by two individuals for a ride from Zira to Jalandhar. Upon reaching Dhanowali Phatak, Jalandhar, one of the passengers brandished a weapon, threatened him, and forcibly seized his white Ertiga car (registration No. PB-01-E-3974) along with his mobile phone.
She said that refusing to let the culprits slip through the cracks, the Jalandhar Crime Branch sprang into action like a well-oiled machine. Leveraging cutting-edge technical assistance, meticulous analysis of CCTV footage, and a network of reliable informants, the police team left no stone unturned. Their relentless pursuit bore fruit on the very same day, leading to the arrest of the accused. The accused were identified as Amritpal Singh alias Sonu, son of Jaswir Singh, and Amritpal Singh alias Amrit, son of Gurwail Singh, both residents of Tarn Taran. The police team had successfully recovered the stolen Ertiga car (PB-01-E-3974), the mobile phone, and a toy pistol used during the snatching.
