Amid the ongoing municipal elections in Punjab, a shocking incident of violence has emerged from Beas village in Jalandhar, where Sunny, the nephew of Congress MLA Sukhwinder Kotli, was brutally murdered by a group of miscreants. The late-night incident also left two of Sunny’s companions injured.
The Adampur police have solved the murder case of Congress MLA Sukhwinder Kotli’s nephew, Sunny. The police have successfully arrested three suspects involved in the case and are expected to hold a press conference soon to provide further details.
MLA Sukhwinder Kotli, in an audio statement, condemned the incident and criticized the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. He revealed that his nephew was attacked around 3 AM by a group of 7-8 men following a minor altercation. Kotli urged SSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh to take swift action against the accused and ensure justice for his family.
Witnesses stated that attempts to intervene were met with aggression, leaving Sunny’s companions injured. Meanwhile, the two injured youths are undergoing treatment at a hospital. SSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh acted promptly, leading to the swift arrest of the accused. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be revealed during the press briefing.
According to SSP Khakh, the victim and the accused were at the same liquor shop on Tuesday night but did not know each other. Sunny reportedly joined the accused’s table, leading to a verbal altercation after a misunderstanding during a phone call. The argument escalated, and the assailants beat Sunny with fists and kicks before using a baseball bat to fatally injure him.
