A private bus, with Congress workers from Zira on board, heading towards Chandigarh to attend the installation ceremony of new PPCC team collided head-on with another passenger bus near Janer village in Moga district.
The impact of the accident was so powerful that a major front portion of private bus damaged in full, resulting in the death of five persons, including drivers of both the buses and injuring over 15 passengers, some of them seriously.
According to information, a private bus carrying Congress workers to participate in the installation ceremony of the new PPCC team at Chandigarh collided head-on with another passenger bus coming from Moga side.
Residents of nearby places rushed to the spot and started rescuing the injured. District administration and police was informed and with the help of ambulances, the injured were taken to the civil hospital in Moga. Doctors attending to the injured claimed that some of the passengers sustain serious injuries and the death toll is likely to rise.

Meanwhile Punjab Chief Minister tweets,” saddened to learn of the bus accident in Moga district in which 3 Congress workers have reportedly died and many passengers are injured. Have directed DC Moga to immediately provide full medical treatment to all the injured and to send a report to the government.
