Jalandhar on Friday has witnessed a sudden spurt in the number of coronavirus cases as 78 people have fallen prey to the infection. But in relief, of 1,003 reports declared out, 935 people have tested negative for the coronavirus.
Notably, since the outbreak of coronavirus, Jalandhar is being known as 'corona hotspot' where the cases have never seen a decline. Till Thursday, a series of 30 was observed by the health authorities to declare the corona positive patients.
But, an alarming increase in the number of cases has put health authorities and administration in trouble. Reportedly, of 78 cases tested positive for the contagious disease, 6 are Punjab Police personnel, 26 patients have already been in contact with the previously corona positive patient and a few of them are industrialists.
The health authorities have come into full swing to trace and test the contacts of the infected patients to curb the further spread. 78 cases reported today have emerged from different areas of the city.
