With each passing day, coronavirus cases in Jalandhar are increasing which has created panic among the residents. On July 4, Jalandhar witnessed another corona blast as 54 people have fallen prey to the infection with which the total tally of the cases reach 826.
But in relief, 453 people have reported negative for COVID today.
Notably, Punjab is witnessing a surge in the number of cases regularly in a few districts including Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana.
It is worth mentioning here that an employee of the Commissioner of Police's office has also contracted the disease, which has caused a stir in the office. All employees of the office were evacuated and were sanitized.
According to sources, the PA of an IPS officer from Jalandhar has become a corona victim, which has caused a stir in the police department.
Of 54 cases reported today, 14 patients belong to the Fatehpur region.

Reportedly, Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has fixed 8 pm for closing shops on Saturday. Such a relaxation amid the ever-increasing corona-graph raises a question mark over the administration.
However, Gidderbaha administration last week announced lockdown for 4 days when only 12 cases of coronavirus were tested positive.
