Coronavirus Updates: India’s Covid-19 tally over 91.77 lakh

Global coronavirus cases have mounted to 5.87 crore people and killed 13.95 lakh people so far.

India has registered 91,77,841 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 1,34,218 deaths. The number of people who recovered from the infection so far is 86,04,955. 

There are 4,38,667 active cases in the country as of date, which comprises 4.85 per cent of the total caseload, according to the health ministry data.

At a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said the high level of the third wave of Coronavirus in Delhi is due to many factors but pollution is an important component. 

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told the prime minister that Delhi has observed its third wave on November 10 with 8,600 Covid cases being reported. He said since then case count and positivity rate both have been steadily decreasing. He said hopefully that the trend would continue in the national capital.

"The high severity of the third wave is due to many factors. Pollution is an important factor. The chief minister sought the prime minister's intervention to get rid of the pollution caused by stubble-burning in adjoining states, especially given the recent bio-decomposer technique.”

Kejriwal has also asked for the reservation of the additional 1,000 ICU beds in the central government-run hospitals in Delhi for coronavirus patients till the third wave of the infection lasts in the city, the source said.

Global, COVID-19 tally stands at 59,496,431, as many as 41,139,523 recoveries have been recorded and 1,401,521 have died so far. The US, the worst-hit country, which has 12,771,700 cases, and 263,644 have died from the disease there. It is followed by India, which has 9,177,641 cases, Brazil (6,088,004), France (2,144,660), Russia (2,114,502).

# Telangana's covid tally passed 265,000 after 921 new cases were reported, while three fatalities pushed the death toll to 1,437. 

# With 52 fresh cases of coronavirus Puducherry total tally rose to 36,769, while no death was reported for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday.

#  Assam recorded 169 new covid cases on Monday, with 2,11,682 confirmed cases, there are 2,07,525 recoveries in the state. There are 3,179 active cases and 975 deaths. 

# Jharkhand's COVID-19 tally increased to 1,07,688 on Tuesday after 219 more people tested positive for the disease, while two more deaths took the state’s death toll to 953. The state now has 2,202 active coronavirus cases, while 1,04,533 people have recovered.

# Andaman and Nicobar Islands covid-19 tally increased to 4,656 on Tuesday after 15 more people tested positive for the virus.
