According to the Health Ministry data this morning, India reported 45,148 fresh COVID-19 cases and 480 fresh fatalities linked to the coronavirus disease in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s COVID-19 tally over the 79-lakh mark. This is the lowest number of Covid-related deaths reported in the country since July 10 which was 475.
Data shows that India was reporting an average of 900-1,000 Coronavirus related deaths in August; this number increased to an average of 1,100 in September when coronavirus cases peaked with a daily average of 90,000 fresh cases. In October active cases and deaths related to covid-19 saw a steady decline. India has been reporting less than 1,000 Covid deaths from the past week which have remained below the 1,100-mark since October 2.
The death toll related to coronavirus disease has mounted to 119,030 while the total number of active cases in the country stands at 656,026. More than 70 Lakh patients have been cured and discharged from the virus so far in India. With this, there has been a rise in the national Recovery Rate, which climbed past 90%.

# Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar says he has tested positive for COVID-19. “I am fine. I have no symptoms. I have been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors,” Ajit Pawar has said.
# Telangana reported 582 new COVID-19 cases, 1,432 recoveries and four deaths yesterday, pushing the total cases to 2.31 lakh. This includes 2.11 lakh recoveries, 1,311 deaths and 18,611 active cases.
# Andaman and Nicobar Islands COVID-19 tally increased to 4,245 today as 20 more people tested positive for the infection after eighteen fresh infections were detected. The Union territory now has 204 active coronavirus cases, while 3,983 people have recovered from the virus and 58 patients have lost lives so far.
# According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 10,34,62,778 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the country until yesterday (October 25). Of these, 9,39,309 were tested yesterday.

# Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has tested positive for COVID-19. "I have tested COVID-19 positive. Asymptomatic. Feeling very much alright. Have alerted those who came in contact in recent days," Das wrote on his Twitter account.
# With 4,127 new cases, West Bengal's COVID-19 tally mounted to 3.49 lakh yesterday. The death toll increased to 6,487 after 60 more people succumbed to the virus. At least 3,857 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, adding that the discharge rate in the state stands at 87.56 per cent.
# With 258 more people testing positive for Covid-19 in Jharkhand, the state's coronavirus caseload rose to 99,686 on Monday. The Covid-19 death toll in the state increased to 866 after two more fatalities were reported.
# The number of active COVID-19 cases in Mizoram is 290 while 2,203 people have been discharged so far. No death reported in the state till date.
# Assam’s COVID-19 cases have risen to 2,04,171 including 1,85,752 discharges and 906 deaths. Active cases in the state stand at 17,510.
# Arunachal Pradesh reported more COVID-19 recoveries than fresh cases in a single day on Monday as 170 people were cured of the disease. The state's coronavirus tally stood at 14,244 after 33 fresh infection cases were reported.
# Chhattisgarh's COVID-19 count increased to 1,75,959 on Sunday after 1,368 infection cases were reported. The number of patients recovered in the state has crossed the 1.50 lakh-mark and reached 1,50,398.
# Uttar Pradesh registered 2,032 cases taking the COVID-19 tally to 470,270.
