India on Saturday recorded daily new cases of coronavirus over 50,000-mark again after reporting 50,356 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. Delhi with 7,178 cases has become the top contributor for the first time leaving Kerala and Maharashtra behind. On Friday about 54,000 people have recovered from the infection and active cases have dropped to 5.16 lakh.
The country’s COVID-19 caseload has increased to 84,62,081 while the death toll rose to 1,25,562 after India reported 577 new deaths.
Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have reported the highest number of cases and in states like Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal the infection is growing rapidly.
India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 92.41 per cent.
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Saturday announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19. He said, “I have tested positive for Covid19. But, there is no cause for concern. However, I request all those who had contact with me in NewDelhi last week to test for Covid, or be under observation to be on the safe side.”
NITI Aayog member Dr V K Paul, who chairs the National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for Covid-19, has said that the vaccine against the coronavirus will be prioritised on the principle of “protecting the health system and pandemic control system”, and those who have “excessive risk of mortality.”

# Satyender Jain said ICU beds are available in Delhi. "ICU beds are still available in govt hospitals in Delhi. But since affluent people prefer private hospitals over govt hospitals, so, they are facing problems in private hospitals."
# With 1,372 fresh cases, Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 3,00,140 while 17 fresh fatalities took the death toll to 1,410.
# Arunanchal Pradesh COVID-19 tally rose to 15,325 after 81 more people tested positive for COVID-19.
# PM Modi says, "COVID-19 pandemic has taught us a lot. It has taught us that globalisation is essential but at the same time, self-reliance is equally important. Atma Nirbhar Bharat drive is about new opportunities for our youth so that they can showcase their inventions freely."
# Telangana reported 1,607 fresh coronavirus cases pushing the tally to 2.48 lakh while six more deaths increased the death toll to 1,372. As many as 19,936 are under treatment and 44,644 samples were tested on November 6.
