After India's daily covid cases passed the value of the four lakh mark for the first time, the country has reported near 4 lakh deaths.
Today, the Government of Odisha has announced a lockdown for 14 days in the state. The lockdown would be between 5 May to 19 May. During this time, only essential services will be permitted and restrictions would be implemented over the non-essential movement. People would be allowed to walk within a parameter of 500 meters to collect essential items between 6 in the morning to 12 noon.

However, on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a virtual meeting with the experts to review the measures taken against the second wave of coronavirus. As per the reports, Prime Minister will review the availability of medical essentials like medical oxygen, vaccines, and medicines.
As per the data released by the Health Ministry of India, today India reported 3,92,488 fresh corona cases in the last 24 hours, and 3,689 people died due to deadly virus, while 3,07,865 patients have been cured of the virus.
