Covid-19: Cases surpass 100 million globally

56 nations across the globe have started vaccinating their people against the virus

Covid-19 had put the entire world to a screeching halt. After the first death was reported in China on January 11, it ordered nationwide lockdown on January 23. As per Reuters news agency reports, the Covid-19 cases have surpassed 100 million mark. The nations across the globe are fighting with vaccine shortages and steps are being taken to nip new variants of the virus in the bud.

As per reports, almost 1.3% of globe's population has been infected with the virus since its inception in China. More than 2.1 million people have died due to Covid-19.

With 13,700 infections being reported average each day, it has been reported that infections are decreasing.

The United States, India, Brazil, Russia and the United Kingdom are some the countries that are worst affected by the surge of Covid-19 cases and high death rate.

According to Reuters, about 56 nations across the globe have started vaccinating their people against the virus. With 64 million doses, they have started rolling out vaccines to fight against Covid-19.

India is a country with the second highest number of cases in the world. India started its vaccine roll out with Covaxin and Covishield. While the country started mass inoculation drive on January 16, the numbers remained low but slightly increased after some time.
