22 cows die in Punjab due to suspected poisoning, Phagwara goes for 'Band' after tensions mount

A heart-wrenching incident occurred late last night at the Sri Krishna Gaushala in Mahligate, Phagwara subdivision of Kapurthala. 22 cows died under suspicious circumstances, with the possibility that they were poisoned. After the incident, the police team arrived at the spot and reviewed CCTV footage to gather evidence. On the other hand, enraged by 22 cows death, Hindu organisations have called for a Bandh in Phagwara. 

After receiving the information, leaders of Hindu organizations and police reached the location. The police have started examining the nearby CCTV footage. Meanwhile, veterinary doctors are treating the sick cows, and the death toll may rise further.

In response to this incident, leaders and workers of Hindu organizations are protesting in Phagwara, Punjab. Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal said he has given proper instructions to the concerned officials regarding this incident to submit their report. SSP Gaurav Toora has also arrived at the spot and getting details from the concerned police officials. He further stated that the situation is under control and requested Hindu organisations to maintain calm and peace in the city.

Upon receiving the information regarding the incident, MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, MLA Phagwara Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, former minister Som Prakash, and other leaders arrived at the spot and demanded strict action from the administration. The death toll has risen to 22 cows.

Bajrang Dal leader Naresh Pandit expressed his sorrow over the tragic event and, while voicing concern, urged the district administration to conduct a high-level investigation and apprehend the culprits. DSP Phagwara Bharat Bhushan stated that the CCTV footage is being thoroughly examined. He also confirmed that 22 cows have died so far, and their post-mortems are being conducted.
