District Public Relations Officer, Jalandhar, January 1 - The Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Punjab Mr. Suresh Kumar today felicitated former Senior Medical Officer of Civil Hospital Jalandhar Dr. Kashmiri Lal for rendering selfless service to the people during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Honoring Dr. Kashmiri Lal on the sidelines of a function organized by the Shaheed Parivar Fund here today, the Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister lauded the exemplary work done by him during the pandemic to give relief to the people.
Pertinently, Dr. Kashmiri Lal, who came into government service in 1993, superannuated from the service on December 31, 2020. He was the most visible face of the Health department during the pandemic. Known for his commitment and zeal to serve the needy and underprivileged, Dr. Kashmiri Lal provided succor to people by imparting quality health services to people during the crisis.
As incharge of the Covid relief centre set up at the local Civil Hospital, he left no stone unturned for ensuring timely and prompt relief to the people. During the peak of pandemic Dr. Kashmiri Lal served the people zealously as a frontline covid warrior thereby putting his own life and that of his family in peril.

Meanwhile, expressing gratitude for the felicitation, Dr. Kashmiri Lal said that he has been overwhelmed with feelings of boundless humility at being chosen for the rare honour. He said that he would ever remain indebted for showering so much love and affection on him. Dr. Kashmiri Lal said that even after superannuation he would continue to serve people in private capacity.
On the occasion, Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ghanshyam Thori, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Sandeep Garg, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. Karnesh Sharma, Chairman Citizen Urban Cooperative Bank Mr. KK Sharma, President Mahila Congress and Municipal Councilor Dr. Jasleen Sethi and others were also present.
