Team India World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh is all set to start a new innings of his life and this time it will be on the political front. Yes! you heard it right. Yuvraj Singh is reportedly in talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Apart from Yuvraj Singh, there is a buzz that former cricketer & top Congress leader Navjot Sidhu may jump ships to the BJP as well. Now, the question arises from where Yuvraj Singh may fight Lok Sabha elections 2024? Below is what we know so far-
As per reports, Yuvraj Singh is in talks with the BJP and if everything goes well, the former cricketer will be seen holding the Lotus flag during the Lok Sabha Election. BJP is mulling to field Yuvraj Singh from Gurdaspur where last time it fielded Bollywood actor Sunny Deol. Notably, Sunny Deol has already clarified that he will not be contesting elections and now he will be focusing on his movie career. Deol's remarks came after his movie Gadar 2 turned out to be a blockbuster.
Notably, Yuvraj recently met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and there is a possibility of him joining the party. Yuvraj is one of the most decorated Indian cricketers, having won two World Cups. He was the top performer for the Men in Blue in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup.
Interestingly, the BJP is planning big in Punjab. A few days back, it was reported that the saffron party is in talks with Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar to field him from Ludhiana for the Lok Sabha Elections. Reports stated that for this, the BJP is in talks with SAD and requesting them to give them the Ludhiana constituency during seat-sharing talks.
