DAV University, Jalandhar and CRPF Welfare Association (CWA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to educate the children of CRPF personnel. This MoU was signed in New Delhi by Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, of DAV University, Jalandhar and Mrs Rimjhim Singh, President, CWA. Mr Anish Dayal Singh, Director General and Mr B S Negi, DIG, CRPF were also present at the occasion.
Under the partnership, DAV University, Jalandhar, will offer admission to the wards of CRPF personnel based on eligibility criteria, with special provisions for the families of martyrs and serving/ex-servicemen. The university will provide scholarships covering tuition fees and hostel charges to the wards of CRPF families.
DAV University faculty, students, and staff would visit CRPF establishments for awareness creation, as well as other modes of interaction to spread awareness about both organisations. Both CRPF and DAV University will facilitate the sharing of facilities, including academic visits and mutual agreements for resource-sharing.
DAV University would offer 100 seats to the wards of martyred, serving, and retired force personnel on the nomination of CWA.
Mr Anish Dayal Singh expressed his delight at the partnership. He said that the collaboration is significance in ensuring a bright future for the children of CRPF personnel. He stated that this the initiative highlights CRPF’s commitment to the welfare of its force personnel. Dr Manoj Kumar said that the University was committed to support the CRPF personnel.
CRPF is an internal security and combat force in India with a primary role of assisting the State Territories in police operations to maintain law and order and counter-insurgency.
Several senior officers of the force and senior officials of DAV University including Registrar Dr Sanjeev K Arora were present at this occasion.
