On Monday, domestic flight services will resume in India. The government on Thursday released a list of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for passenger and airport operators for recommncement of operations.

The Civil Aviation Ministry said, from May 25, only passengers with confirmed web check-in will be allowed to enter an airport terminal and no physical check-in at counter will take place.

The Civil Aviation Ministry's SOP added that only one check-in bag will be allowed and airlines will not provide any meal services in flight.

Similar to the guidelines issued by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), the govt said passengers will have to report at least two hours before scheduled time for flight's departure. The boarding for flight will commence 60 minutes before departure and boarding gate will be closed 20 minutes before departure.

“Airlines to adhere to lower and upper limit of fares prescribed by govt during COVID-19 pandemic period,” the Aviation Ministry stated in the SOP.

Earlier in the day, the AAI released SOP for airports. In the guidelines, AAI said the Aarogya Setu App will not be mandatory for children below 14 years of age and it will be compulsory for passengers to walk through the thermal screening zones before entering the airport terminal building.

Airlines will ask you to fill a self-declaration form that you are clear to fly health-wise prior to web check-in. Boarding pass to be issued only after that.

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had announced on Wednesday that domestic flight services would resume from May 25 onwards in a calibrated manner.
