The Dallas Texas racism incident has started to send shockwaves around the world after a group of 4 Indian American women were racially abused, physically assaulted, and threatened in a parking lot. On August 25, a group of 4 Indian American women were racially abused, physically assaulted, and threatened by a Mexican American woman named Esmeralda Upton in the parking lot of a business in the 3700 block of Dallas Parkway. The Texas viral video has been spreading like a wildfire on social media and people from almost all over the world are expressing their solidarity with the Indian American women who had to face such a heinous act. Now, the Indian American woman has finally broken her silence and expressed the mental trauma she and her friends went through.
Sharing the Texas racism viral video on her Facebook, the Indian American woman named Rani Banerjee stated that she has been living in the States for the past 29 years, however, she never faced such incidents. Furthermore, Rani narrated that she was on her way to her car with her friends when the drunk Mexican American woman started shouting and racially abusing them. Amidst the incident, they called 911 and the Police arrived in time.
"“Go back to India. You curry-a**ed people are ruining this country”. Dinner with friends ended with a frightening experience. As we left Sixty Vines, Plano and headed towards our cars, an angry, drunk woman came at us with hateful racial slurs and even physically attacked us. We called 911 and thankfully the cops arrived in minutes. I have lived in DFW for 29 years and never have I felt so humiliated, threatened, and scared for my life. Can’t believe this is what America has become. UPDATE: Because this matter is under investigation, we have been advised not to discuss this further at this time," wrote Rani Banerjee on her Facebook profile.
Esmeralda Upton arrested
Coming to Texas racism case development, Esmeralda Upton was arrested by the authorities on the basis of multiple witnesses present there. As per reports, Esmeralda Upton lives a resident of Plano, TX. She has been booked for Assault Bodily Injury and terroristic threats. The hate crime angle is currently under investigation. Furthermore, she is being held on a total bond amount of $10,000. Notably, the Police officers have further stated that additional charges may be forthcoming with the investigation.
