'Katai Jahar-Jahar hai' The words of this Jat leader Ganga Ram Choudhary may have a positive meaning in Haryanvi.
But when it comes to giving numbers to the film, it just comes to the heart. Thinking about the acting of Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam for once and giving passing marks to Dasvi, but when the story itself is in turmoil, then how will it feel.
Why was it so difficult for director Tushar Jalota to clear his 'Dasvi' exam? Let's find out.
Movie Story
The origin story of the Dasvi film is on the importance of education. Taking education as the main theme in the film, a story has been woven, through which its need and importance have been shown.
Ganga Ram Chaudhary, the eighth pass, is the Chief Minister of Green State. He goes to jail on charges of an education scam. After getting the punishment, Ganga makes his wife Bimla (Nimrat Kaur) sit on the chief minister's chair.
Bimla also remained desi and less educated but somehow she took over the post of Chief Minister.
On the other hand, Ganga encounters Rough and Tough Jail Superintendent Jyoti Deswal (Yami Gautam) in jail. For Jyoti, Ganga is not a chief minister but a prisoner like other prisoners.
Troubled by his strict behaviour and discipline, Ganga starts looking for ways to get out of jail. When the excuse of illness does not work, he goes to the library and starts studying there on the pretext of giving the Dasvi examination.
But when no idea works, then he starts taking his studies seriously. Seeing the urge to read in him, Jyoti helps him to read.
While taking over the post of Chief Minister, Bimla likes that chair and now she does not want anyone to snatch this chair from her, even her husband Ganga. Ganga starts to understand Bimla's tricks, she studies diligently.
Ganga declares that if he passes the Dasvi examination, only then he will sit on the chief minister's chair. Bimla now tries to ensure that Ganga is not able to pass the exam.
Now it remains to be seen whether the eighth pass Ganga, who is not interested in anything other than studying politics, will pass the Dasvi examination, will he be able to become the Chief Minister of the green state back or not.
Will Ganga's relationship with Bimla break because of 'RajPath'?
Where does the story take off?
Tushar Jalota chose the subject well to make the film, but instead of making it a bit interesting, he kept the story very flat from the beginning. There was an attempt to pull the story by force based on the subject only.
Nimrat Kaur looks desi-rustic-greedy
In Dasvi, Abhishek Bachchan has done a good job in the character of Ganga with his Haryanvi tone. Like the Jats, he was like Ray, Sun, spoken with a high voice, gaiety, gait, wide chest and moustache rage.
Character-wise, Abhishek has done a great job. Yami Gautam's acting was fine. She has done justice to the character of Jyoti, come to Nimrat Kaur's character Bimla.
How much 'Jahar' did Nimrat get in Bimla's role?
He has done a wonderful act of being a native countryman. It would not be wrong to say that if someone has passed class 10th with good marks, it is Nimrat Kaur. The rest of Manu Rishi Chadha is also tickled by his antics.
The film is not long but does not increase the excitement either.
Dasvi is a 2-hour film, but in these two hours, Ganga's innocence managed to make people laugh to some extent. The first half of the story seems quite drawn out. It seems that forced scenes have been inserted into the affair to make the film longer. The second half is better than the first but not very special either. A strong base was not seen in Dasvi with a good message.
Overall, the Dasvi had widened the expectations a little too much. In the last few films, his acting gave hope to the audience, but Dasvi ruined all his hard work. Despite having strong stars in the film, the weak script failed the Dasvi.
