Punjab is gearing up for a long stretch of holidays in the first week of October, with multiple public holidays falling back-to-back. Schools, colleges, banks, and government offices will be closed for five consecutive days, giving people plenty of time to celebrate the festive season. With back-to-back festivals, Punjab is set for an extended holiday stretch, including Gandhi Jayanti and Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti.
The holiday spree begins on October 2 with Gandhi Jayanti, a nationwide public holiday. The very next day, on October 3, Punjab will observe Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti, leading to another day of closures. If you manage to take leave on Friday, October 4, you can enjoy a full five-day break, as the weekend falls on October 5 and 6 (Saturday and Sunday).
This means that schools, banks, and offices will remain closed from October 2 to October 6. In addition, October promises more holidays, including Durga Ashtami on October 11, Dussehra on October 12, and Diwali on October 31.
With so many festive breaks lined up, Punjab residents can look forward to some well-deserved time off to celebrate with family and friends.
