In a bizarre development, a ruckus was created late Saturday night after a customer allegedly found a dead lizard in Bhalla Chaat's Chutney that was bought from Jalandhar's famous Bittu Pardesi Restaurant. Bittu Pardesi Restaurant is located in the posh Model Town area of Jalandhar. As per the customer, he ordered a takeaway of Bhalla Chaat from Bittu Pardesi Restaurant. However, when he opened the package to eat the Bhalla Chaat at home, he found a dead lizard in the sweet chutney floating in it. As a result, the customer and family rushed to Bittu Pardesi Restaurant and informed the owner about the shocking lapse.
As per the family, when they reached the restaurant with the complaint, the owner and employees immediately closed the shop and left from there. Jalandhar resident Vishant Malik reportedly said that he had come with his family to Bittu Pardesi restaurant located in Model Town on Saturday night to have Bhalla Chaat. After getting Bhalla Chaat packed, he returned home. 'When we reached home, the children started insisting on eating chaat. After which he started putting chaat items in bowls. At last, when he poured the sweet chutney given by the restaurant into the bowl, he saw that something was lying in it. Upon investigation, it was found that a dead lizard was floating in the chutney.'
The customer revealed that when he tried to tell the person sitting at the cash counter about the dead lizard, he did not listen. However, when the uproar started, the head of his market came to the spot and somehow got the shop closed. After closing the shop, all the employees ran away from there.
The victim's family said that they would complain about this to the Food Safety Department. So that action can be taken against them. The victim said that it was fortunate that the children had not eaten the said food.
