Deepika
Padukone made a veiled dig at prominent influencer Freddy Birdy for his remark
about Ananya Panday and Deepika's clothing sizes for Gehraiyaan marketing. For
the uninformed, Freddy wrote a sarcastic post about the film's promotional
events, noting, “Newton’s Law Of Bollywood – The clothes will get tinier as
Gehraiyaan release date approaches."
A few minutes later, the actress took
to her Instagram Story to post a message that read: “Scientists say, the
Universe is made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons. They forgot to mention
morons." Deepika's remark went viral in a matter of seconds, and netizens
praised her for making a comeback. As a result, Freddy converted his Instagram
account from public to private.
Meanwhile, a Twitter user called
Mrunal Thakur out for liking Freddy's misogynistic message. She then clarified
her statement, saying, “Bhai you are so mentally sick I wish I could get you
some flowers and Slam it on your face and thank you for spreading hate! Just to
let you know I admire Deepika. Having said that I feel you must get yourself a
life, rather than sitting at home and spreading hate, spread love!"
Amazon Prime will begin streaming
Gehraiyaan on February 11, 2022. It was supposed to be released on January 25,
but it was pushed back earlier this month. The plot of the film focuses on the
challenges that develop when two lovers are confronted with shame and mistrust
from their respective partners, while their elder family members struggle to
find a solution as well.
