Agra Bala, an acid attack survivor who is fighting for her life, has found new hope after celebrity starlet Deepika Padukone gave a helping hand to save her life.
The acid attack survivor, who is suffering from a life-threatening kidney disease, need a kidney transplant immediately in order to live. Deepika gave a generous sum of Rs 10 lakh to the 'Save Bala' campaign after hearing about it.

The attack took place in the year 2012
Bala and her grandfather were attacked by their landlord with acid in 2012. Bala's family and the miscreants who attacked him had mutual hatred. The attack claimed the life of Bala's grandpa. The acid burned Bala's hands, neck, and face. Bala was taken to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and underwent 12 operations there. Bala's father is a farmer, and she has three younger siblings in addition to her mother.

Bala still needed financial assistance to recover from this catastrophe, and an NGO is asking as much assistance as possible. On a crowdfunding portal, a fundraising effort named "Save Bala" has been launched.
Meanwhile, on the job front, Deepika is one of Bollywood's busiest actresses, with a number of intriguing projects in the works. She will be featured in Shakun Batra's unnamed next film alongside Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi in lead roles.
She will also be seen on film for the first time with Prabhas and Hrithik Roshan. Her Prabhas film will be directed by Nag Ashwin, while Hrithik's film is titled "Fighter" and will be directed by Siddharth Anand.
The official Hindi remake of ‘The Intern,' starring Rishi Kapoor, has also been revealed by the actress. Due to the renowned actor's unexpected death, the film would be shot with Amitabh Bachchan stepping in for him. Deepika and Big B previously collaborated on the film ‘Piku.'
