The bullet train project in India will enable people to travel between Delhi and Amritsar by cutting the total travel duration to only two hours. The planned operation speed for this train reaches 350 km per hour. At an average speed of 250 km per hour, the long journey distance can be completed within just a few hours. The train possesses the passenger capacity to transport 750 people on each journey.

The Delhi-Amritsar bullet train project will connect 15 locations in its 465 km route starting from Delhi and including Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar. The regular stopping points between Delhi and Amritsar will number 15, and Chandigarh will remain one of them.

The planned launch of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project by the Centre will enable Delhi to Amritsar bullet train services. The authorities have identified 10 different routes for bullet train operations. A feasibility report regarding the project exists already. The survey project was launched as part of the bullet train initiative, and officials spoke to farmers regarding land acquisition for project development, according to News18Hindi.

The process for conducting a survey has begun to establish bullet train connectivity between Delhi and Amritsar in Punjab. The bullet train track construction requires the government to secure land from 343 villages throughout Haryana and Punjab territory. Gurjeet Singh Aujla confirmed the development as the Amritsar MP for Lok Sabha and noted that a time reduction to 2 hours will become possible upon project completion.
