Many wondered what account is the reason behind Peeragarhi blue foamy water. The video went so viral that it also got the attention of Delhi Water Minister Atishi.  Now, the truth behind Peeragarhi blue water has been revealed.

Preliminary investigations of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) suggest that this happened due to damaged sewer lines during construction work in Peeragarhi village. A senior DJB official was quoted by a Hindi daily saying that the sewer lines in front of Peeragarhi village were damaged due to the construction of DMRC, due to which contaminated water overflowed. Contaminated water went into fresh water supply lines. Sewage water flows into water lines from manholes. Work is being done to fix the leakage point. There are many small-scale industrial units in Peeragarhi. Jeans dyeing work is done in many units.

On July 27, Delhi's Water Minister Atishi ordered DJB to take action on the report of blue foamy water. She had also written a letter to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar on the issue. In her letter, Atishi highlighted that the worrying situation was brought to her attention through social media videos. It shows residents getting bright blue foamy water.

"This is a very shocking incident and needs urgent intervention. This could be just the tip of a bigger underlying problem and could have very serious consequences in future. This needs to be addressed immediately,” Atishi mentioned in the letter.
